LONG-PERIOD TRIAXIAL SEISMOGRAPH DEVELOPMENT.

Abstract

Field operation of the long-period triaxial seismograph at the Unita Basin Seismological Observatory (UBSO) continued through April and May when the seismometer was removed for installation in another borehole facility. Test results that show the stability of operational parameters are given. Operational improvement over the advanced long-period system in the presence of wind and barometric pressure noise is illustrated. Redesign of an improved triaxial module is completed. Design details concerning new subassemblies to improve seismometer reliability are discussed and illustrated. (Author)
