TITANIUM STRUCTURAL SECTIONS PRODUCED BY ROLL BONDING ON BAR MILLS.

Abstract

A development program directed toward roll bonding titanium structural shapes on bar mill equipment is described. Processing in the form of a square cross section on bar mill equipment offers a potentially attractive method for producing long lengths of finished shapes from relatively small packs. Program goals were met, and forty foot minimum length shapes were fabricated from both Ti-6Al-4V and Ti-6Al-6V-2Sn. (Author)
