A NEW SHARK SPECIES IN THE TONKIN GULF (NOVYI VID AKULY IZ TONKINSKOGO ZALIVA--NEGOGALEUS LONGICAUDATUS BESSEDNOV SP. N. (PISCES, CARCHARHINIDAE),

Abstract

A new shark species, Negogaleus longicaudatus Bessednov of the family Carcharhiridae is described. It differs from the close species N. pectoralis (Garman) from the Massachusetts Bay in the lesser length of the mouth and by black coloration of anterior margins of both dorsal and caudal fins.
