L-BAND TETRODES.

Abstract

A novel support member has been developed that permits the grid and cathode to be mounted rigidly in closely spaced relationship. A metal-clad insulated heater has been constructed that can be bonded to a planar cathode and operated without distortion of the cathode surface. A new tube structure incorporates these improvements along with a simplified anode assembly and a more reliable grid contact member. A circuit modified for utilization of the tube avoids the need for closely fitting parts to obtain a broad-band input. (Author)
