Abstract

Experimental studies were made to determine the influence of strains on the non-uniformity of plastic deformation. It was concluded that the only efficient means of reducing the non-uniformity of this strain during upsetting is to reduce friction forces and whenever possible to increase the degree of unitary strain, rather than to reduce it.
