SOME EXPERIMENTS ON COLD FRICTIONAL BINDING OF ALUMINUM AND COPPER SHEETS (NIEKTORE BADANIA NAD SPAJANIEM TARCIOWYM NA ZIMNO BLACH ALUMINIOWYCH I MIEDZIANYCH),

Abstract

The purpose of the present investigation was to determine the effect of certain technical process conditions on the properties of welded joints, and embraces the effect of the state of preparation of the junction surfaces of the metal and the amount of normal pressure when the amount and rate of displacement of the contingent material are kept constant. Metallographic investigations were also made of the microhardness of friction welded joints. A type PHM-30 hydraulic press, a dynamometer and a special device for friction welding were used. The rate of displacement on the press was 25mm/min and the accuracy of normal force readings plus or minus 0.6 kG. (Author)
