FREQUENCY-SELECTIVE VOLTMETER.

Abstract

A new frequency-selective voltmeter is being developed for use by direct-support, general-support, and depot maintenance personnel to test communication equipment such as the AN/GRC-106, AN/VRC-12, and AN/PRC-25-series radio sets. Capable of measuring the amplitude and frequency of electric signals of from 3 microvolts to 30 volts (full-scale indications) in the frequency range of from 20 kilohertz to 80 megahertz, the voltmeter will eliminate the need for simultaneous use of more than one test instrument for the numerous radio-frequency and intermediate-frequency fault-isolation and alignment operations that now require an oscilloscope, a frequency counter, a heterodyne voltmeter, and a wave analyzer. The voltmeter will operate on an alternating current of 115 or 230 volts, 50, 60, or 400 hertz. It is expected to weigh less than 25 pounds and have a volume of not more than 0.8 cubic foot.
