C-Band Integrated Tunnel Diode Amplifier.

Abstract

A C-band tunnel diode amplifier has been constructed utilizing microwave integrated circuit techniques. Operation in both the hybrid coupled and circulator couples modes was implemented. The MIC medium employed was silver or copper clad high purity aluminum oxide. Circuit elements of both lumped and distributed nature were used, the latter being constructed in microstrip transmission line. Gains of 15 db with 400 MHz bandwidth and noise figure of the order of 7 db have been measured. (Author)
