Infrared Studies at High Pressures.

Abstract

This work describes the use of an FS-520 far infrared interferometer with a high pressure diamond cell. Using this instrument with a focusing cone and light pipe gives a slight advantage over conventional absorption spectrometers. An attempt was made to study the effects of high pressures on various inorganic and organic compounds by the use of infrared spectroscopy. (Author)
