HF Vertical-Plane Patterns of Monopoles and Elevated Vertical Dipoles with and without Extended Ground Systems.

Abstract

Computer-plotted patterns show visually the effect of changing frequency and ground parameters on antenna pattern and gain. The report covers resonant and nonresonant monopoles and elevated vertical half-wave dipoles at hf over finitely conducting earth; effect of a conducting ground screen; and effect of earth's conductivity and relative dielectric constant.
