Evaluation Tests of Proposed Atlas Decoy Pod Insulation Materials.

Abstract

Rocket wind tunnel tests were performed to determine the aerodynamic heating rates in the vicinity of the Atlas Series E decoy pod protuberance and to evaluate a number of materials proposed for decoy pod insulation. The tunnel test section Mach number, static pressure, and gas total temperature were 6.3, 0.10 psia, and 4400 degrees R. (Author)
