Feasibility Study of Liquid Hydrogen Level Detector for Zero G.

Abstract

During the coast phase period of the Centaur Vehicle it will be necessary to determine the location of the fuel in the liquid hydrogen tank. The method normally used to monitor cryogenic liquid level (the hot wire system) will not operate in a zero 'G' condition. The objectives were to test prototype models of liquid level detectors in liquid hydrogen and determine the feasibility of using these units on a flight missile. (Author)
