Centaur Insulation Jettisoning Test,

Abstract

The Centaur vehicle hydrogen tank is insulated with jettisonable insulation panels for the first 164 seconds of vehicle flight, at which time the insulation panels are jettisoned. The test program reported herein was initiated in order to study the adherence characteristics between the insulation panels and the liquid hydrogen tank. (Author)
