The Viscosity-Temperature-Dependence of Liquids,

Abstract

The viscosity-temperature-dependence of liquids of different types can be represented by the formula lg kinematic viscosity = A/T to the x power + B. For the determination of A, B and x three measurements at three different temperatures are necessary. There are groups of related substances for which x is constant. In this case only two viscosity measurements are required. If x is constant and moreover there exists a relation between A and B or if A has a constant value, only one viscosity measurement at one temperature is necessary for the characterization of the viscosity-temperature-dependence. Examples for each different case are given. (Author)
