Nonlinear Analysis of Circular Sandwich Plates,

Abstract

The report consists of a continuation of the effort to provide the design engineer the same capability with sandwich materials that he now has for the solid materials. A computer program is presented for the large deflections of circular sandwich plates with clamped edges and under a uniformly applied load. The differential equations for a circular plate under the above conditions were solved using the perturbation method. Several different examples are presented by varying the shear modulus and thickness of the core. Load versus center deflection ratio curves are also presented for each example. (Author)
