Tunable Dispersive Filter Techniques.

Abstract

YIG magnetoelastic dispersive delay devices are investigated as microwave pulse compression elements for swept receiver applications. Two-port performance in L-band is developed, using longitudinal elastic injection and a mode conversion surface. Various saturated magnetic circuits designed to provide linear delay dispersion are evaluated, and experimental dispersion results are reported. Tunable filter techniques are briefly explored in magnetoelastic echo experiments employing ramp-pulsed magnetic fields. (Author)
