Effects of Moisture on Hawk Wings,

Abstract

Investigations were conducted to determine the effects of moisture on the integrity of HAWK fins or wings when the moisture is contained or retained in the inner areas of the wing. These effects appeared to be associated with the deterioration of adhesive strength by undermining the bond between the core and skin and the wicking of moisture into the glass fiber interface within the adhesive.
