Assessment Models and Methodologies of the Value of Tactical Early Warning and Surveillance in Naval Warfare.

Abstract

The study of military weapons systems is pursued under many names: operations research, operations analysis, systems engineering, systems research, and systems analysis. This paper presents a conceptual formulation for the coordination of these efforts to assess the effectiveness and worth of systems. It is presented in the context of a particular Naval problem and is written for staff level personnel within the Department of Defense. (Author)
