Development of Operational Russian-English Machine Translation System.

Abstract

The report documents results of a 12 month effort in Russian-English machine translation R and D. The effort was directed at development of the SYSTRAN System programmed in IBM 360 assembler language and implementable on any IBM 360 with a minimum of 256K byte core storage and requisite I/O media. The System now consists of four translation preparation programs (ready for testing); eleven translation programs (ready for testing); seventeen support program (including three partly tested and two completely tested); and eight macro programs (including five completely tested).
