On Some Problems Involved in the Increasing of Signal Capacity and Signal Density in Case of Rotating Magnetic Plate Memories,

Abstract

The following subjects were discussed: increasing the specific signal quantity in disk storage units per magnetic head; the recording process; the readout process; increasing the signal density; magnitude of the signal produced in the readout; and some problems involved in increasing the signal density in radial direction. It was concluded that by implementing the considerations presented it is possible to increase both signal capacity and signal density.
