Investigation of the Phase Structure of Refractory Nickel-Base Alloys,

Abstract

An investigation was made of the effect of aluminum on the quantity and chemical composition of the hardening phase in nimonic-type alloys, aged up to 1000 hr at 800C. In alloys containing 1.3-4.8% Al, the formation of the gamma' phase containing more Al + Ti was observed in the initial period of aging, as could be expected from the stoichiometric composition. During the aging process, the size of the gamma' phase crystallites, the antiphase domains, and the long-range order increase. (Author)
