Crustal Structure of the Northeast Indian Ocean.

Abstract

Seismic reflection and refraction measurements indicate that four separate velocity layers exist above the mantle in this area. Their combined thickness ranges from 4 to 8 km. The Mohorovicic Discontinuity occurs at a depth of 9.3 km. above sea level in several of the seismic sections shown. (Author)
