Tube Failure Mechanisms.

Abstract

Surface breakdown tests were performed on three uncoated Al2O3 insulators and on two titanium oxide-coated (using the same process as in coating microwave windows) Al2O3 insulators under high vacuum. The effect of various gases and the increase in current with increasing gap spacing for one set of OFHC gap-breakdown electrodes was accurately observed. (Author)
