A New Approach to Differential Rectification with the Use of the Helava Analytical Plotter,

Abstract

Starting from the differential method with a standard rectifier and any stereo evaluation instrument, new ways for differential rectification processes are shown. Differential rectification can be carried out by coupling the analytical plotter with various types of conventional rectifiers. Apart from slot control, no specific installations are needed for this purpose in the conventional rectifier. The computation of the constant and currently variable setting values can be accomplished with the appropriately programmed computer of the analytical plotter. Special attention is paid to theoretical principles when coupling the analytical plotter with the Jena rectifier SEG I and SEG V, as well as with a specific rectifier. These proposals also offer the following advantages: differential rectification can be implemented with a high degree of accuracy when evaluating aerial photographs taken at any focal length; the rectifier can also be used for normal rectification processes, as needed. In principle, the analytical plotter can be coupled with any type of rectifier, if the available mathematical correlations between the analytical plotter and the rectifying instrument are taken into consideration with adequate computer programming.
