Some Aspects of Friction and Wear in the Case of Lubricating with Molybdenum Disulfide,

Abstract

The efficacy of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), used as a lubricant, is greatly affected by its purity and the homogeneity of granulation of the product used. Some observations and experimental results are presented relative to the effect of natural and synthetic MoS2 of various qualities with respect to purity and granulation, on friction and wear of metal surfaces, studied under conditions which varied the functional parameters: speed, load and temperature.
