The Behavior of Liquid With a Free Surface when Disturbed from Rest by the Motion of a Boundary,

Abstract

An investigation is made of the motion of water of finite depth in an infinite channel, this motion being caused by perturbing the bottom of the channel from its original horizontal position in a prescribed manner. A number of different approximate treatments are described. (Author)
