Solid-State Infrared Detector.

Abstract

This report covers the first six months work on the development of a sensitive, all solid-state receiver for 10.6-micrometer radiation. An analysis of microwave detection systems is presented for the microwave-biased detector being used in the present receiver. Performance of microwave-biasing sources using transferred electron oscillators or transistor-driven varactor harmonic-generator chains is described. Tuning of the transferred electron oscillator was begun near the end of the report period. (Author)
