Three Different Techniques of Color Separation Applied to Charting and Printing.

Abstract

A modified process color separation technique which has been successfully applied to reproduce one Naval Oceanographic Aeronautical Chart Series, is discussed. A significant reduction in press operating time resulted. Some of the photographic problems associated with the production of large scale, large size chart substitute products are discussed, and a brief description of the new development of continuous tone color lithography (screenless printing) as applied to aerial and space photography as well as conventional charts is given.
