Proposals for the Uniform Testing and Rating of Stereo Evaluation Instruments (Vorschlaege zur Einheitlichen Testing and Bewertung von Stereoauswertegeraeten),

Abstract

Uniform testing is a precondition for the uniform rating of stereo evaluation instruments. A discrimination is made between 'institutional' testing and 'routine' testing. No limitations exist for the first concerning time, personnel and material needed. Routine testing of instruments in productive use should include all essential characteristics but with a minimal measurement and computation volume. After analyzing the most important instrument errors, recommendations are made concerning regular testing of stereo evaluation instruments, and concerning the introduction of instrument licenses.
