Stable Operation of Thin Film Traveling Wave Laser Amplifiers.

Abstract

The report contains a theoretical analysis showing that the ordinary methods of using antireflective dielectric coatings on laser amplifier materials with small gain coefficients are not applicable to laser amplifier materials with large gain coefficients. It includes theoretical equations for complete elimination of reflection of a solid laser material by a single dielectric film and also by a specific four-layer dielectric film, and also by a specific four-layer dielectric system.
