Measurement of Velocity in Pulsating Flow,

Abstract

In this study, examples of flow measuring instruments whose further development and perfection are in progress in Poland are discussed briefly. Each of these instruments has a limited range of application, which can be determined only after completion of many measurement runs with the aid of dynamic tests. In all cases, the measurement is successful if the influence of the reading of the inductive transmitter is eliminated by the static pressure at the measuring location. This was accomplished by a labyrinth packing of the movable thrust pin. Particular attention is given to this design component as well as to the compensation of the thermal expansion of the thrust pin and displacement transmitter.
