Tropic Service Test of Hat, Jungle with/Headnet.

Abstract

The hat with headnet was service tested by the US Army Tropic Test Center during the period October 1967 through 31 Jul 1968 in the Canal Zone. Purpose of the test was to determine the suitability of the Hat, Jungle with Headnet, for use by US Army troop personnel in a humid tropic environment. Testing was conducted under humid tropic conditions with ambient temperatures ranging from 62 deg F to 100 deg F and relative humidity ranging from 28 to 100 percent, Test soldiers were representative of those who would normally wear the hat. Tests were conducted to determine the functional suitability, fitting compatibility, durability, maintenance, safety, and human factors characteristics of the Hat, Jungle with Headnet. Supervisory personnel from the US Army Tropic Test Center made all observations, periodic inspections, and administered questionnaires.
