High Efficiency Octave Bandwidth Traveling Wave Tube.

Abstract

The cold-test data obtained with anisotropic shield loading are being used for the design analysis of large bandwidth tubes with efficiency enhancement by velocity - resynchronization. The design of both the voltage jump and the velocity taper method are being determined with a large signal computer program for traveling wave tubes. Experimental tubes are being designed to evaluate both the voltage jump and velocity taper method for efficiency enhancement in conjunction with anisotropic shield loading and with a double stage collector.
