Sea Spider Site Survey in Support of Project Parka.

Abstract

The survey covered a 400 square nautical mile area in the Central North Pacific Ocean, and was conducted aboard the U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey Ship McARTHUR. The bathymetric survey was to provide detailed information for implanting a Sea Spider for use in Project PARKA operations. The bathymetry revealed one seamount in the north-west corner of the area and medium to low abyssal hills oriented generally north-south. A bottom topography chart was produced from corrected soundings. (Author)
