Maintainability Predication by Function.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to develop a technique for the preliminary prediction of the maintainability of systems and equipments during the predesign development stage when detailed design information is not available. The technique would be applicable to ground electronic equipment at the organizational level of maintenance. Application of the technique would thus permit early assessment of equipment maintainability (M) and prove valuable for performing feasibility studies and design trade-off analyses, establishing contractual requirements, and making preliminary estimates of maintenance and logistics burden.
