Reliable Connectors for Flat Electric Cables.
Abstract
Seven connectors for flat cables were tested at the US Army Electronics Command, four of which were selected for further development. These four connectors are (a) a pierce-insulation-and-pressure type, (b) a pressure connector typical of those commercially available, (c) a soften-insulation-and-weld type, and (d) a soften-insulation-and-solder connection with insulation stripped from only one side of the cable.
