On-Line Computer Techniques for Photo/Intelligence Analysis.

Abstract

This report describes the results of an on-line experiment to gather empirical data concerning the reaction of photo interpreters to the use of on-line techniques in the area of photo/intelligence analysis. Experienced photo interpreters, using a realistic data base, looked for actual targets and reported on them with the assistance of a computer and console. A number of problem-oriented on-line functions were implemented for use during the current test. The functions implemented did not deal with the actual interpretation, but were limited to tedious housekeeping functions which consistently consume a large amount of a PIs time. (Author)
