Radar as a Sensor in Digital Fire Control Systems.

Abstract

In an evaluation of the use of radar as a sensor in a digital weapon control system, a radar was considered in the context of one of several subsystems used for weapon control. This report, which documents the results of the study, identifies specific radar parameter characteristics and relates them to the various functions a control system is required to perform. The way in which the parameters must be varied in tradeoffs of size, cost, and performance, together with the requirements for interfacing with the other subsystems, is also discussed. (Author)
