Contribution to the Measurement of Nonstationary Stochastic Signals,
Abstract
The principle of orthogonal filtering enables a series of special measuring instruments to be produced which, in many cases can perform useful tasks in measuring technology. The purpose of these instruments is not in the fact that they can compete with classic evaluation methods by the use of the most modern devices, as special magnetic tape devices, digital and analog computers, etc., which, obviously, would be absurd, but rather to supplement them in a special manner. The purpose was in making it possible for the user to have a fast orientation when working with stochastic magnitudes, to secure first information fast and to give evidence of the character of the process and in so doing make it easier to plan the measurements and evaluation equipment.
