The Effect of Metallurgical Factors on the Properties of Heat-Resistant Nickel-Base Alloys,

Abstract

Three nickel-base alloys were tested for the effect of vacuum-arc and electroslag melting on the content of trace elements, gases, inclusions, and mechanical properties. Vacuum-arc melting did not affect the basic composition of the alloys, but lowered the content of trace elements. Vacuum-arc melting did not affect the mechanical properties at room temperature, but increased the ductility at high temperatures, the rupture strength, and the elongation at rupture. (Author)
