Development of an Air-Mass Dead Reckoning Set for Light Army Aircraft (Standard Navigation Computer).
Abstract
Development of an Air-Mass Dead Reckoning Navigation System for application in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft is described. A computer-map plotter was developed which will accept inputs from the aircraft's pitot-static system and gyromagnetic compass and indicate present position of the aircraft via a moving map display. Results of flight testing on a rotary wing aircraft, both during development and military potential, tests are presented. (Author)
