The Gi-Bl Hungarian-Made Gyrotheodolite,

Abstract

Relatively little has been published in the Polish geodetics literature on determining the geographic azimuth by gyroscopic methods, this also being true with respect to description of the constructions of instruments with a gyrocompass device, i.e., gyrotheodolites. The latter despite their advantages (determination of the geographic azimuth by observing the oscillations of a mechanical element, without resort to astronomic observations, which is of particular importance in mining and in the Armed Forces) are not as yet extensively used in Poland and few institutions can boast of their possession.
