Influence of Design on the Life Expectancy and Motion Resistance of Miniature Bearings,

Abstract

This article discusses problems which arise in connection with miniature bearings. The designer must be given the opportunity of utilizing these miniature bearings more than previously. The immense number of them in use in Western countries shows that great progress has been made in the miniaturization field. The consideration that miniature bearings must find application seems questionable when one tries to ascertain the demand in the GDR or in the Council of Mutual Economic Assistance. It was established that at present the entire requirement in GDR and Mutual Economic Assistance countries together is insufficient to take up the production of an installation which would be needed for the production of miniature bearings. Hence, it ensues that the significance of these construction elements is generally underestimated. (Author)
