Effects in the Heat Treatment of Glass Fibers Under Load,

Abstract

In contrast to solid glass, heat treatment of glass fibers leads to a considerable decrease in high stability values. Stability decreases all the more, the finer the fiber, the higher the treatment temperature and the longer the duration of the heat treatment. In the investigation of this phenomenon, which is important in practical application, the glass fibers were subjected to a heat treatment in the unstressed free condition. (Author)
