Linear High Power C-Band Amplifier.

Abstract

A 10 kW cw crossed-field amplifier covering the frequency range 4.4 - 5.0 GHz is being designed and developed for use in a highly efficient power booster to increase the output of existing troposcatter communications equipment from 1 kW to 10 kW while requiring only 20 kW of prime ac power input. The preliminary design of the tube has been completed, and two models have been assembled and are awaiting test. A test facility has been prepared, and a ferrite isolator and circulator have been built and tested. (Author)
