Microstrip Circuit Designs.

Abstract

A study was made of microstrip transmission line parameters. A theoretical analysis of the uniform line sections was programmed by determining the voltage distribution about the strip when supported by a ceramic dielectric substrate. The impedance, velocity and attenuation of microstrip uniform lines were thus calculated. Experimental measurements on 2 in long sections of uniform microstriplines on 0.020 in substrate were made and are compared to the theoretical calculations. During the second six months of the contract, a study of circuit junction (T's and X's) was made, and satisfactory designs of a multistub filter and an in-line hybrid were reported. These and other circuit designs are included in this final report. A description of the computer program for analyzing circuits employing microstripline is included. This program has been modified for use at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base computer. (Author)
