Influence of Wind Profile on Diffusion in the Ground Layer of the Atmosphere in the Presence of Unstable Stratification,

Abstract

The diffusion equation is solved for an infinitely linear source acting in unstable air, using results obtained by applying the similarity theory for the wind profile and turbulent exchange coefficient (Monin--Obukhov). The computations show that the wind profile must be taken into account with a low point source and at short distances away from it, as well as for low heights above the earth's surface. (Author)
