RADAR Interviews Concerning the Problems of Contemporary Astrodynamics.

Abstract

Artificial earth satellites involve a number of problems which do not occur in relation to natural celestial bodies, such as passage through the Earth's atmosphere, calculation of courses, and intersection of an astronautical vehicle with a planet in space. The Institute of Theoretical Astronomy was founded in 1919. Its chief responsibility is compiling the vital astronomic yearbooks, but it also studies the 2,000 asteroids revolving between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.
