Dynamic Compression Tests on Polyurethane Foam.

Abstract

A limited number of specimens of rigid polyurethane foam have been tested in compression using a dynamic testing machine. Specimens tested were in the shape of a two-inch cube, loaded either parallel or perpendicular to the direction of foam expansion. Compressive strength of rigid polyurethane foam has been found to be a function of foam density, strain rate, and the direction of foam expansion. (Author)
