Structural Damage in Metal-Forming Processes.

Abstract

The investigation is a part of a program relating to the nature of structural damage generated during metal forming operations. There were two major goals of the study: first, to determine whether or not the propensity for structural damage of a variety of common materials could be categorized quantitatively in terms of a 'damage sensitivity parameter'; second, to determine whether or not a relation between the structural damage in wrought materials and their mechanical properties could be established.
